Emergency General Surgery Experience Of A Tertiary Center

Background: We aimed to present the emergency General Surgery patient profile and results of our hospital.Materials Methods: This retrospective study was conducted in Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training Research Hospital Clinic between 1 January 2016 31 December 2019. Patients who were admitted department underwent operations at clinic included study. Gender, age, anamnesis, laboratory tests, radiological findings, preoperative diagnoses, surgery notes, postoperative patients recorded.Results: A total number 2820 cases including 1201 (42.6%) female, 1619 (57.4%) male enrolled The mean age 37.32 years (min: 14, max: 94). most common range ages 21-30 years.Most surgeries performed due nontraumatic indications 2645 (93.8%) , 1790 them (67.67%) appendicitis. Other nontrau-matic abscess, incarcerated hernia, ileus, perforation. 175 (6.2%) came general operated on trauma. causes trauma these sharp force stab in-juries 43.4% gunshot wounds 39.4% cases.Conclusions: frequency distribution vary according locations hospitals. Epidemiological studies increasing data enable determination regions preparation hos-pital staff for will seek medical help.
